9.4-rated glamping & camping on a working farm in York
Accommodation
Belle Vista Glamping & Camping offers 11 glamping pods including Double Rooms with Shared Bathroom, Double or Twin Rooms, and Budget Double or Twin Rooms. Each family room includes a private bathroom, electric kettle, outdoor furniture, and garden views. The pods are equipped with thermostatic heaters, under-bed heating, and tea and coffee making facilities.
Farm and Dining
The working farm on site has pigs, sheep, chickens, and a peacock; fresh eggs are available for guest breakfasts. The farm shop sells farm-reared lamb, sausages, burgers, and homemade cakes baked by host Sammie. An unstaffed honesty shop allows guests to purchase produce and feel off-grid.
Location
The property is 9 km from York Minster and York Railway Station, a 10-minute drive to central York. Attractions such as York Barbican, York Dungeon, and Jorvik Viking Centre are within 5 miles. Leeds Bradford International Airport is 55 km away, with a 42-minute drive.
Facilities and Services
Free on-site private parking and bicycle parking are available, with 24-hour security and CCTV coverage. The site provides a shared kitchen, a garden with picnic spots, and an outdoor seating area with a TV and chimenea. Self check-in is offered, and guests must provide vehicle registration before arrival.
Guest Experience
A communal barbecue area with a covered pergola lets guests cook outdoors and watch TV. Shower and toilet blocks are reported as spotless, with a fully equipped kitchen for all guests. The grounds are well maintained and include a large peacock and a robot lawnmower.

“I found the glamping site to be immaculately maintained, with thoughtful touches like ample power sockets and outdoor seating areas enhancing the pod experience. The proximity to York, while feeling worlds away, is a significant advantage, complemented by the convenience of an on-site farm shop for provisions. This spot strikes a compelling balance between peaceful rural seclusion and practical accessibility.”
